Executive orders - September 20 to September 30
U.S. AI will cure childhood cancer! New houses to be dearer. Sees domestic terrorists everywhere.
Hopes AI will make up for funding cuts in children’s cancer research. Makes new builds more expensive. Signs National Security Memorandum Targeting Domestic Terrorism with dangerous changes. Designates Antifa (which is not an organisation) as a domestic terrorist organization. Saves TikTok for his buddies and China. Plus the usual hypocrisy.
Unlocking Cures for Pediatric Cancer with Artificial Intelligence - AI with everything. Last year, however, funding for childhood cancer research was cut from the U.S. spending bill. DOGE-type innocents running AI will be no replacement for expert researchers with the help of AI specialists. Not good news.
Adjusting Imports of Timber, Lumber, and their Derivative Products into the United States - from October 14, 2025. Various exceptions, but in general: softwood timber and lumber 10%, upholstered wooden products 25%, kitchen cabinets and vanities (including parts) 25%. Rates to increase January 1, 2026. UK max 10%. EU and Japan max 15%. Other wood products may be added. If it is felt that wood products are undervalued, additional tariffs may be added. The housing market will be hit. Alex Shaw, writing in the Global Business & Economics Journal, points out other potential drawbacks.
Continuance of Certain Federal Advisory Committees - until September 30, 2027. More than 20 of them.
Assuring the Security of the State of Qatar - “The United States shall regard any armed attack on the territory, sovereignty, or critical infrastructure of the State of Qatar as a threat to the peace and security of the United States... In the event of such an attack, the United States shall take all lawful and appropriate measures — including diplomatic, economic, and, if necessary, military — to defend the interests of the United States and of the State of Qatar and to restore peace and stability.”
Enforcing the Death Penalty Laws in the District of Columbia to Deter and Punish the Most Heinous Crimes - what it says on the tin.
Countering Domestic Terrorism and Organized Political Violence - lists assassinations and assassination attempts against the CEO of UnitedHealthcare and right wingers, only. Explains how the increase in violence has arisen, but does not mention that this was by the right wing. “The National Joint Terrorism Task Force and its local offices (collectively, “JTTFs”) shall coordinate and supervise...” Dangerous sweeping changes.
Gold Star Mother’s and Family’s Day, 2025 - Sunday, September 28, 2025. “As Commander in Chief, I will never betray our warfighters or turn my back on their families.” Yeah, right.
Saving TikTok While Protecting National Security - China’s Bytedance will still be part owner. Questions Remain.
Designating Antifa as a Domestic Terrorist Organization - basically accuses a non-existent organisation of doing what it Trump’s people are doing. Makes official their view that all who fought on the side of the allies during World War Two were, in fact, terrorists. “ utilize all applicable authorities to investigate, disrupt, and dismantle any and all illegal operations — especially those involving terrorist actions — conducted by Antifa or any person claiming to act on behalf of Antifa, or for which Antifa or any person claiming to act on behalf of Antifa provided material support...”. Hmmm, if the admin denies being fascists, that means it must be anti-fascist and it should therefore go after itself.
National Hispanic Heritage Month, 2025 - September 15 through October 15, 2025. Please ignore the fact that we are violently rounding up Hispanics across the country and imprisoning them or deporting.
