DOGE-type innocents running AI will be no replacement for expert researchers with the help of AI specialists. Not good news.

Adjusting Imports of Timber, Lumber, and their Derivative Products into the United States - from October 14, 2025. Various exceptions, but in general: softwood timber and lumber 10%, upholstered wooden products 25%, kitchen cabinets and vanities (including parts) 25%. Rates to increase January 1, 2026. UK max 10%. EU and Japan max 15%. Other wood products may be added. If it is felt that wood products are undervalued, additional tariffs may be added. The housing market will be hit. Hmmm, if the admin denies being fascists, that means it must be anti-fascist and it should therefore go after itself.
