ICE plough the fields and scatter
It's more than time that the administration should think about what it is doing

ICE ploughs the fields and scatters the workers from the land.
'Tis neither fed nor watered, instead it turns to sand.
God sends the snow in winter, the warmth to swell the grain,
But mankind then ensures there's too much or little rain.
Refrain:
All good gifts around us are sent from heav’n above;
But we must treat workers and Earth with respect and with love
We think that we're the makers of all things near and far;
But all is down to nature and sunshine from our star.
The wind and waves come freely, but are birds for our use?
But we must not be greedy and kill the golden goose.
We thank you, then, dear nature, for all things bright and good:
The seedtime and the harvest, our life, our health, our food.
We're sorry for the greedy who rape and pillage you
They threaten all our futures, but what are we to do?
To the tune of 'We plough the fields and scatter'
John Betjeman parodied the hymn as "We spray the fields and scatter the poison on the land".
Another insightful post for those willing to actually consider others desires beyond their own.
