My husband had a colostomy bag temporarily. 8 inches of intestine removed at the age of 36. He was fortunate that they could remove it. Didn’t know if they would initially.
That was a real annus horribilis, but now I feel very lucky. I've lived longer than most of my relatives and am enjoying better health than they did in their final years.
