War: Dump the Trump
When will America emasculate this dangerous man-child?

No one man should be able to send his country to war because he feels like it, because he wants revenge on someone, because he needs a distraction, because he wants an election boost, or for any other reason or no reason at all.
It’s undemocratic.
But it is also a terrible waste of lives and resources. It’s inefficient. And while the military industrial complex may benefit, everyone else loses. So, even those who do not favour democracy should be against it.
South Korea’s ex-president Yoon Suk Yeol attempted an insurrection. He declared martial law when there was no emergency that warranted it. He’s been jailed for life.
Trump
Donald J. Trump also attempted a failed insurrection, on January 6, 2021. He was allowed to get away with it. Since the beginning of his second term, Trump has declared several false emergencies, saying they gave him the latitude to do whatever he wanted. He largely got away with that, too. Now, he has in effect declared war with Iran without consulting Congress. In the United States, only Congress may declare war, unless there is an emergency. There was no real emergency here. If, as Trump said, Iran’s nuclear capability was obliterated last year, it could hardly be an imminent threat early this year.
He is a crazy, dangerous lose cannon. He must be stopped now. Don’t even wait for impeachment - apply the 25th amendment before he does any more damage. If you don’t beat him to it, he will declare martial law and make it harder to bring him to justice. He’s already building concentration camps to hold you. He’s shown no loyalty to those who have shown loyalty to him in the past. Many have been pushed aside.
None of the emergencies he has declared are real. Instead, HE is the emergency. And he is actively preventing the fight against another - climate change. There’s a madman in the White House.
Even if you are not pro democracy, he has not just broken the law of the land, he has shattered it. Congress is functional no more - unless it acts immediately.
War
It was bad enough when we sent our young men to die in war, leaving wives without husbands, children without fathers, businesses without workers or even without bosses/owners. That was crazy.
Now war is rained upon innocent civilians, infrastructure and on businesses from afar, causing even greater disruption. That is even crazier.
It used to be that sheer numbers of bodies, if they were equally trained and armed and led, decided who won the war. It is still one of Russia’s strategies in Ukraine.
It used to be that heads of societies encouraged their people to have as many children as possible, so that they would have superior numbers in any future war. That is still part of some cultures, even where the necessity is long gone, and overpopulation is a problem.
It used to be that leaders nominated a champion - for example a knight - to fight his opponent’s champion to determine the winner.
It used to be that kings rode into war themselves, sometimes at the head of their troops. Even the occasional queen. And some died.
Modern ‘leaders’ are wimps, never going near battles themselves. They can order wars from the safety of home.
Modern leaders do not need to be able to ride a horse or wield a sword. They can direct technology, and even if they are deaf or blind or quadriplegic, or elderly and weak, then technology can help them.
So, I propose new rules of engagement - go back to the days of knights.
Wars should be fought only between the leaders or their champions. And there should be a strict code of conduct.
This would save a lot of lives, families, businesses and infrastructure. The money and manpower saved could be put to much better use for the benefit of all.
And if the military industrial complex could not find anything better to do, with no armies to supply, they could always switch to a weapon-free space race.
Anyone unilaterally declaring war should be fair game for anyone in the world to arrest them and take them to the Hague for trial.
Would cadet bonespurs have dared declare war in such a world?

The perfect Headline ever‼️ It's been ten years now since I've been waiting for the day I'd wake up to find US in another senseless war. Today is that day..... Thank you, Sue, for your article today, I agree with you on everything. As always, will reStack ASAP 🙏
Since my brothers went into the military in the late 60's, I thought it wiser to have the two leaders step into the ring, or play chicken on a back highway, or try Burr and Hamilton's choice of battle. Keep us out of it.
